Overview
We are seeking a qualified Rail Transport Planner with minimum 10 years' experience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East.
The candidate must be a degree-qualified professional with a minimum of 5 years of traffic engineering, transport planning and traffic modelling experience.
Your Role
- This role requires contributing to a variety of transport planning studies including large scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies or multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors.
- Understanding of transport planning, traffic engineering and travel demand theory.
- Experience in public transport networks and familiarity with international transport planning standards and practices.
- Practical understanding of the role and importance of transport planning in development access and citywide mobility plans.
- Experience in undertaking junction analysis to support the traffic impact assessments.
- Contribute to preparation of reports including existing conditions analyses, trip generation, junction analysis and parking assessments.
- Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both written and spoken.
- Must be able to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision.
- Some experience project/financial management.
- Competence to assist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business as well as to sell Atkins services generally.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in traffic engineering, transport planning or traffic modelling.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning with Operations and Maintenance railway project exposure.
- Knowledge of International public Transport Planning standards and procedures.
- Has worked within a team.
- Experience in the Middle East is preferred.
