Role Overview

Lead verification and validation strategies for complex embedded products.

Own the end-to-end test lifecycle, including planning, design, execution, defect analysis, and release sign-off.

Mentor junior and mid-level test engineers and provide technical leadership.

Test Development Responsibilities

  • Architect and enhance scalable test automation frameworks using LabVIEW and Python.
  • Drive root cause analysis for complex system-level issues with design, firmware, and systems teams.
  • Define test standards, coding guidelines, and design patterns for the test organization.
  • Perform exploratory and stress testing to identify corner cases and systemic gaps.

Requirements and Quality

  • Review requirements and specifications to identify ambiguities, risks, and testability gaps.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and traceability matrices and ensure requirement-to-test coverage.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide early testability feedback.
  • Lead defect triage and influence prioritization based on risk and customer impact.

Automation and Infrastructure

  • Own and improve CI/CD integration for automated tests and test infrastructure.
  • Use lab equipment including multimeters, loop calibrators, digital storage oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.
  • Work with embedded systems and industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet-based protocols.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems testing, test automation, test development, and system-level validation.
  • Expert-level automated and manual embedded systems testing experience with strong LabVIEW specialization.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in NI TestStand for complex test sequencing, reporting, and parallel execution.
  • Strong experience with version control, branching strategies, code reviews, and change management.
  • In-depth knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and mature defect management processes.
  • Proven ability to implement custom Python test automation frameworks and analyze test data, logs, and results.

Professional Capabilities

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills for ambiguous problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with global stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, ownership, and cross-functional influence.

Preferred Credentials

  • ISTQB Advanced Level, NI CLD/CLA, or equivalent professional credentials are a plus.
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop and system-level test environments is a plus.
