Tender and Estimation Engineer

About This Role

1. Tender Preparation and Submission

• Reviewing tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Identifying key requirements, risks, and compliance issues.
• Preparing bid proposals, including technical and financial aspects.
• Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and other necessary details.
• Ensuring timely submission of tenders with all required documentation.

2. Cost Estimation

• Preparing detailed cost estimates based on project scope, labor, materials, and other expenses.
• Analyzing project risks and preparing contingency plans.
• Using estimation software and spreadsheets to calculate costs accurately.
• Reviewing historical data to benchmark and improve cost estimates.

3. Vendor and Supplier Coordination

• Requesting quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
• Evaluating supplier prices and negotiating costs.
• Ensuring materials and services comply with project requirements.

4. Technical & Commercial Analysis

• Comparing different cost options and providing value engineering solutions.
• Preparing cost-benefit analysis for project viability.
• Assisting in contract negotiations and terms finalization.

5. Documentation and Reporting

• Preparing bid summaries, cost breakdowns, and progress reports.
• Maintaining records of tenders, contracts, and related correspondence.
• Keeping track of tender outcomes and learning from bid results.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Liaising with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams.
• Participating in client meetings and bid clarification discussions.
• Assisting in post-tender negotiations if required.

7. Market Research and Trend Analysis

• Staying updated on industry trends, material costs, and regulatory changes.
• Monitoring competitor pricing and tendering strategies.
