Key Responsibilities
- The resource will be expected to support the Legal Department in the following areas:
- 1. **High-Value Agreements and Legal Review**
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, service agreements, consultancy agreements, construction-related contracts, leasing documents, SPAs, licenses, settlement agreements, MOUs and related legal instruments.
- Identify and assess key risks, including liability caps, indemnities, termination rights, payment exposure, authority approvals, insurance, delay, default, dispute resolution and governing law provisions.
- Prepare concise legal comments, risk summaries and recommended amendments.
- 2. **Projects, Tenders and PPP Submissions**
- Support the legal review of tender documents, bid submissions, PPP documentation, RFPs, concession/lease/project agreements and related clarification requests.
- Identify deal-breaker provisions, compliance gaps, submission risks and authority-related exposure.
- Assist in preparing legal clarification questions and risk notes for management.
- 3. **Litigation and Arbitration Support**
- Review court submissions, external counsel advice, pleadings, expert reports, evidence bundles and litigation strategy notes.
- Support internal assessment of claims, counterclaims, settlement options, execution risk and procedural deadlines.
- Coordinate with external counsel where required and assist in preparing internal legal instructions.
- 4. **Risk Assessment and Management Advisory**
- Prepare detailed legal risk assessments for management decision-making.
- Provide practical advice on urgent legal, contractual, regulatory and governance matters.
- Support the A/LC in maintaining proper legal oversight across departments and subsidiaries.
5. **Legal Department Operational Support
- Assist with workload management, prioritisation of urgent legal matters, review trackers and reporting.
- Support the preparation of law firm assessment criteria, external counsel coordination, handover plans and legal cost-control measures.
- Provide a second line of legal review on complex matters
- **Mandatory Requirements** and **Preferred Requirements**:
Mandatory Requirements
- · Minimum 8-10 years of post-qualification legal experience.
- · Prior experience in a reputable law firm is mandatory, preferably with international or regional law firm exposure, for a minimum of 8 years.
- · Strong background in commercial contracts, real estate development, construction/project documentation, procurement, tendering and dispute management.
- · Experience working with developers, government-linked entities, infrastructure projects, PPPs or large corporate groups.
- · Ability to review complex and high-value legal documents under time pressure with limited supervision.
- · Strong legal drafting skills in English/Arabic.
- · Ability to produce executive-level risk assessments, legal recommendations, issue trackers and management-ready advice.
- · Familiarity with the Qatar legal and regulatory environment, or at minimum GCC legal practice.
- · Ability to work directly with internal departments, senior management and external counsel.
- · Strong ability to operate at law-firm standard in drafting, review, risk analysis, matter management and legal reporting.
- · Strict confidentiality, sound professional judgment, responsiveness and ability to manage sensitive matters.
Preferred Requirements
- · AI-oriented legal professional with demonstrated experience using advanced legal AI platforms, including Harvey, Legora or equivalent legal technology tools, for contract review, legal research, drafting, document analysis and litigation/arbitration support.
- · Proven ability to integrate legal AI tools into legal workflows while maintaining senior legal judgment, confidentiality, quality control and professional responsibility.
- · Practical experience in technology-assisted review, AI-supported document analysis, automated legal trackers and structured reporting for high-volume or time-sensitive matters.
- · Previous in-house experience with a developer, master developer, public shareholding company or government-related entity.
- Pay: QAR30,000.00 - QAR40,000.00 per month
