Job purpose
Handle telecommunications work on TAQA transmission projects, including site installation, testing, commissioning, and coordination with other systems under approved drawings and TAQA requirements.
Main responsibilities
- Supervise telecommunications work at site against approved drawings and project requirements.
- Follow up installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom equipment and communication systems.
- Coordinate fibre optic cable testing, OTDR testing, and OPGW communication interfaces where applicable.
- Coordinate interfaces with Protection, SCMS, OEMs, and other project teams.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and technical-comment clearance with TAQA and the consultant.
- Track site progress, material availability, and technical issues affecting the work.
- Complete testing reports, as-built drawings, punch-list items, and handover documents.
- Report delays and technical issues to the Project Manager and ensure timely action.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication Engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in transmission and substation projects.
- Practical experience in telecom installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Previous UAE utility-project experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of TAQA requirements and willingness to complete the required Competent Engineer approval process.
