About This Role
Position: Technical Writer
- Job Location: AbuDhabi - Onsite (Work from office)
- Must have experience in software documentation, technical writing tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Oxygen XML), and familiarity with Agile environments.
- Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the software documentation field, demonstrating expertise in creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical content
- Proficiency in using documentation tools such as SharePoint and MadCap Flare, or other XML-based authoring tools
- Knowledge of or experience with DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) for structured
- content management and modular documentation.
- Experience in creating technical diagrams such as flowcharts, DFD, and other similar visual aids to illustrate complex processes
- Firm understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC)
- Experience working in an Agile environment, with the ability to adapt documentation processes to iterative development cycles
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and to create easily understandable in text and pictures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other documentation tools
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality documentation, paying attention to details, that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Develop a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
- Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write
- procedure manuals, technical specifications, process documentation, interface text, online help, user guides and developer guides
- Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
