Technical Support Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

• To empower customers with technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness required to safely and efficiently operate and maintain ABB solutions. • The work model for the role is: Onsite (Dubai, UAE)
• This role is contributing to the Electrification Services in MEA Region.
• You will be mainly accountable for:

Instructional Support

• Support instructors in delivering comprehensive electrical training programs, covering both theory and hands-on laboratory components
• Assist trainees during practical exercises including electrical wiring, testing, commissioning simulations, and troubleshooting activities
• Monitor participant progress and provide additional coaching to ensure training objectives are met
• Coordinate training schedules and maintain classroom/laboratory readiness
• Verify availability and condition of tools, equipment, and training kits prior to each session
• Prepare learning materials and ensure all instructional resources are accessible and functional
• Deliver training courses in classroom, on-site, or virtual formats as required
• Facilitate post-training activities including feedback collection, participant assessments, and course evaluations
• Prepare and update training documentation including manuals, wiring diagrams, checklists, risk assessments, and test procedures
• Maintain accurate records of equipment status, maintenance logs, incident reports, and corrective actions
• Identify improvement opportunities and propose enhancements to optimize training effectiveness and safety
• Responsible for supporting 70-100 training sessions annually (internal and customer-led), volume determined by Technical and Training Manager requirement

Qualifications For The Role

• Professional qualification in Electrical / Automation Engineering
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in electrical/automation applications or similar fields
• Solid knowledge of MV & LV products with capability to deliver comprehensive product training
• Knowledge of safe working procedures and site safety protocols
• Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken)
• Strong foundation in MV/LV switchgear, electrical systems, and automation engineering principles
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and test procedures
• LV Switchgear, MCC, and Protection Relays
• PLC basics, HMI/SCADA fundamentals
• Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
• Experience with training platforms (Moodle, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar LMS)
• Communication & Coaching — Clear communicator with a strong mindset for supporting and developing trainees
