Profile

Responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of the assigned DP vessels within the fleet.

Acts as a liaison between onshore management and offshore personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the technical operations of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with company standards, international regulations, governing bodies and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical advice when required to onshore and offshore teams.
  • Provide solutions and adopt a proactive approach to support efficient operations.
  • Ensure the vessel’s class, flag and statutory certification is compliant and in date.
  • Liaise closely with the vessels’ Masters and Chief Engineers to ensure the vessels machinery and equipment are operated efficiently and maintained to company standard.
  • Manage dry-dockings, repairs and major maintenance planning, budgeting and execution.
  • Liaise directly with vessel clients to offer technical solutions and support.
  • Assist Operations Manager in the preparation of the vessels yearly repair and maintenance Opex budget.
  • Guide and assist the Supply Chain department with technical expertise as required.
  • Support the vessels crew as the first line of contact for matters pertaining to the vessel or client contract.
  • Responsible to ensure the vessel is crewed to flag state, client, and Telford requirements. Liaise and assist the Crewing department for vessel crew related matters including scheduling and crew change.
  • Responsible for approving vessel parts requests via Star FSM procurement system.
  • Assist Finance and cost control depts in respect to checking and approval of invoices, monitoring and advising of potential large expenditure.
  • Work closely with the Star IPS Coordinator to ensure the planned maintenance systems is kept up to date and operating efficiently.
  • Conduct regular vessel visits, inspections and audits to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
  • Support with dry-dock preparation processes, drawing on direct shipyard experience.
  • Uphold and promote HSEQ standards by adhering to health and safety policies, minimizing environmental impact, ensuring quality compliance, and contributing to continual improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures to understand and act in compliance with Telford policies and procedures.

Qhsse Responsibilities

  • Follow all Health & Safety policies, report hazards in the office, and support a zero-incident safety culture by maintaining a safe working environment for colleagues, visitors, and contractors.
  • Be mindful of environmental impacts from office activities, such as resource use and waste, and support actions to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies or process gaps in office workflows and communicating opportunities for quality enhancement.
  • Maintain a drug- and alcohol-free workplace by adhering to the zero-tolerance policy and ensuring compliance with random testing requirements, including in the office environment.
  • Practice energy-saving behaviours in the office, such as turning off unused equipment, minimising waste, and supporting energy reduction initiatives.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority if you identify unsafe conditions in the office, such as trip hazards, electrical faults, or fire risks, and ensure work is paused until it is safe to proceed.
  • Safeguard office systems and data by following cybersecurity protocols, using secure passwords, reporting suspicious emails, and protecting sensitive information.

Qualifications And Experience

  • CoC in Engineering or similar.
  • BOSIET preferred.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under limited supervision.
  • Experience working within the marine sector is mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
