Technical Sales Representative

Role overview

What you will do

• Develop sales plans for existing customers and assigned competitive accounts to meet profit-growth goals.
• Understand customer needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans.
• Build relationships with customer stakeholders, including plant and facility executives.
• Provide technical support, resolve customer challenges, and escalate issues when needed.
• Analyze systems, interpret data, and provide written recommendations to optimize customer operations.
• Sell and support Nalco Water technologies and innovations.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Technical sales or field sales support experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or in life sciences such as biology or chemistry.
• Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience.
• Working knowledge of OR operations, wet end chemistry, or pulp mill operations.

Territory and travel

• Position is based in the Bronx and New York, New York, with targeted institutional accounts.
• Less than 25% overnight travel is required.
• Training may take place in the field and at Nalco Water headquarters in Naperville, Illinois; travel is arranged and paid for by the employer.

Compensation

• Annual compensation range is $81,200–$121,700, including base pay and target incentive.
