About The Role

We are seeking an experienced

Technical Manager

to oversee the technical operations of a high-end live entertainment venue in Dubai.

This role requires a strong background in

show control, media servers, lighting, audio, AV networking, and team leadership

.

The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly adaptable, technically sharp, and able to lead a team through rehearsals, programming, show operation, troubleshooting, and live performance environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all technical operations for rehearsals, programming, maintenance, and live shows.
  • Lead the technical team across lighting, audio, video, automation, stage systems, and show control.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain
  • WATCHOUT / Dataton media server systems
  • .
  • Support and supervise
  • media server workflows
  • , content playback, mapping, cueing, backup systems, and signal routing.
  • Oversee lighting console operations, with strong preference for experience on
  • grandMA3
  • lighting consoles.
  • Manage audio systems and control workflows, ideally with experience using

Allen & Heath

  • digital mixing consoles or equivalent professional audio systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot advanced
  • AV networks
  • , including signal distribution, control networks, show-critical infrastructure, and system communication between departments.
  • Coordinate with creative, production, stage management, operations, and external vendors to ensure smooth technical execution.
  • Support programming, rehearsals, load-ins, show maintenance, and technical notes.
  • Ensure all technical systems are show-ready, properly backed up, documented, and maintained.
  • Train, supervise, and schedule technical staff as required.
  • Respond quickly to technical issues during rehearsals and live performances.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, cue sheets, system diagrams, equipment lists, and maintenance logs.
  • Enforce safety procedures for stage, rigging, electrical, automation, and backstage operations.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a
  • Technical Manager, Technical Supervisor, Head of AV, Head of Lighting, Show Systems Manager, or similar role
  • in live entertainment, theatre, nightlife, immersive attractions, concerts, cruise ships, theme parks, or large-scale events.
  • Hands-on experience with

Watchout And Dataton

  • or comparable media server systems.
  • Strong knowledge of
  • media servers, playback systems, projection, LED, video routing, and show control
  • .
  • Experience with professional lighting control systems, preferably
  • grandMA3
  • .
  • Experience with professional audio control systems, preferably

Allen & Heath

  • or similar digital audio consoles.
  • Strong understanding of
  • AV networking
  • , including signal flow, routing, IP-based systems, control networks, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading and managing a technical team.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a live show environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and fast decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical departments.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, rehearsals, and show nights.

Preferred And Bonus Experience

  • Experience with
  • stage automation systems
  • .
  • Knowledge of cue-based show control platforms.
  • Experience with theatrical productions, cabaret, dance shows, resident productions, or immersive entertainment.
  • Experience managing international creative or technical teams.
  • Understanding of safety standards for live entertainment venues.
  • Experience opening a new venue or launching a resident production.
  • Familiarity with Dante, Art-Net, sACN, NDI, MIDI, timecode, OSC, or similar show network protocols.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should be a hands-on leader, not just an office-based manager.

This person should be comfortable stepping into the booth, troubleshooting a media server, speaking with vendors, leading technicians, supporting rehearsals, and making quick decisions during live shows.

We are looking for someone who is technically deep, operationally organized, and adaptable enough to work in a fast-moving entertainment environment where precision, timing, and calm leadership matter every night.
