L2 Google Cloud support engineers monitor systems, handle incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues to maintain SLAs and operational stability.
The description states an experience range of 2–6 years.
Responsibilities
- Monitor GCP resources using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Security Command Center; configure dashboards, alerts, and logs.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve alerts, incidents, and service disruptions; perform detailed troubleshooting across compute, network, IAM, and storage.
- Manage Compute Engine instances, including deployment, restart, and performance checks.
- Administer Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, IAM, and VPC services.
- Troubleshoot networking, including firewall rules, connectivity, VPN, and load balancing; configure VPCs, subnets, VPN, Interconnect, and load balancers.
- Perform operational tasks, health checks, and maintenance; provision resources with Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Support landing-zone setup and project onboarding; monitor performance, optimize resource use and cost, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain high availability and disaster-recovery readiness; handle incident, problem, and change management.
- Support Linux/Unix and Windows server environments.
Requirements
- 2–6 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud and understanding of ITIL.
Cloud and infrastructure skills
- The described work covers Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Security Command Center, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, IAM, and VPC.
- Networking knowledge includes TCP/IP, DNS, firewall, VPN, Interconnect, and load balancing.
- Terraform or Deployment Manager is named for provisioning and management.
- Linux/Unix and Windows server environments are included.
