Technical Engineer – Material Submittals / MIR / WIR (Metal Industry)

Role overview

Submittals, inspections, and coordination

• Prepare and submit Material Submittals (MAS), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), and Work Inspection Requests (WIR), and follow up for approval.
• Coordinate MIR/WIR inspections with site engineers and QA/QC; attend consultant or client inspections and follow through to closure.
• Maintain submittal and inspection registers, update approval status, and revise or resubmit documents in response to consultant comments.
• Coordinate across Design, Procurement, Production, Project, Site, and QA/QC teams, and with suppliers and manufacturers.

Technical reviews and records

• Check delivered materials against approved submittals, specifications, and purchase orders; verify grade, thickness, finish, dimensions, manufacturer, and compliance.
• Review IFC and shop drawings, project specifications, BOQ, and approved materials.
• Prepare compliance statements, technical data sheets, method statements, and supporting documents.
• Follow up for test certificates, mill certificates, technical data sheets, country of origin, warranty, and samples.
• Prepare and follow up Prequalification Documents (PQD) when required; maintain records of approvals, inspections, and consultant correspondence.

Relevant experience

• Experience with architectural metal, stainless steel, aluminum, glass, façade, and related construction works.
• Relevant work includes preparing material submittals, MIR, and WIR, and coordinating inspections and technical documentation.

Pay

• Pay is QAR 3,500–6,000 per month.
