Title: Design/Technical Manager

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

We are currently supporting a leading international construction company with a search for a Design / Technical Manager to join their team. The position will initially be based at the company’s Head Office in Dubai within the Engineering Department , with the expectation to transition to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia once the project is awarded.

The Design / Technical Manager plays a pivotal role in directing and coordinating all technical and design activities from the initial project stages through to full construction delivery. This position ensures seamless design coordination, full buildability, strict compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory standards, and the effective conversion of design intent into precise shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

We are looking to speak with candidates who have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in a Design & Build (D&B) contracting environment,
• 12–15 years of relevant experience on complex large-scale construction projects, preferably in Design & Build or Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) environments.
• Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary design teams on complex, high-profile developments (such as stadiums, cultural buildings, or tall towers).
• Direct the complete design coordination process across all disciplines, including architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist systems.
• Oversee interfaces between external designers, specialist subcontractors, and on-site construction teams.
• Chair and facilitate structured design coordination meetings with consultants, client representatives, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive the timely development, review, and approval of all design outputs in accordance with the established Design Management Plan.
• Proactively identify design-related risks and lead resolution through targeted technical workshops and value-adding alternatives.
• Guarantee full adherence to contract specifications, applicable codes, and local authority regulations.
