The Role

1. Data Landscape & Architecture

• Conduct a comprehensive data inventory across the banking environment: core banking systems, CRM, ERP, cloud storage, databases, and unstructured data repositories.
• Map data types to sources, storage locations, and metadata attributes (creation date, modification date, category).
• Design a data classification framework that underpins the retention schedule, ensuring it adheres to enterprise architecture principles.

2. Retention Automation Design

• Design a customizable retention rules engine tied to data categories with configurable triggers based on metadata.
• Specify automated workflows for:
• Identifying data approaching end-of-life.
• Automatic archiving or deletion per policy.
• Notifications for expiry and error alerts for process failures.
• Ensure rules are flexible to accommodate regulatory changes without requiring code-level intervention.
• Design audit trails and auditor-accessible dashboards to track all retention actions.

3. Tool Evaluation & Recommendation

• Evaluate and recommend an enterprise retention automation platform (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Veritas, Commvault, or IBM Guardium).
• Assess tools against banking requirements: integration capabilities, scalability, support for

4. Technical Security Controls

Required Qualifications
