The project brief describes an apprentice working on the converting production lines at Al Nakheel Paper Manufacturing.
The apprentice gains hands-on production experience and contributes to continuous process improvement aligned with IWS standards.
Role objectives and duties
- Gain practical exposure to process management in manufacturing.
- Understand and apply process-control methodologies, tools, and techniques following IWS systems.
- Participate in shift handovers and Line DDS meetings using the SHO structure.
- Support filling out and leading the 14 steps of RTTDMS during line DDS.
- Ensure quality checkpoints function properly and complete regular health checks on time.
- Communicate action plans to the line team and ensure timely, complete execution.
- Escalate breakdown and downtime issues according to the escalation matrix.
- Conduct safety, quality, and operational checks, including OFS and BOS.
- Guide and support the production team to build capability and meet targets.
- Learn how to lead production teams to achieve daily output targets and support communication from the Line Leader to the floor team.
