About This Role
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate, VAT/GST, payroll, and other tax returns; ensure timely filing and payments.
- Research and interpret tax legislation; apply changes to company policies and filings.
- Support tax provision calculations for month/quarter/year-end (IFRS/US GAAP), including deferred tax and disclosures.
- Manage tax audits and enquiries; liaise with tax authorities and external advisors.
- Provide tax planning and optimisation advice for transactions, restructures, and cross-border activities.
- Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and intercompany tax issues.
- Collaborate with finance and legal on M&A, capital allowances, and tax implications of contracts.
- Prepare tax schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for external audits and internal reviews.
- Maintain tax process documentation, controls, and calendars; drive process improvements and automation.
- Monitor tax risks and maintain compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Required skills & qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; professional qualification preferred (ACA/ACCA/CPA or local equivalent).
- 3+ years’ experience in corporate tax or practice (mid); senior roles 5+ years.
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, VAT/GST, payroll taxes, and international tax principles.
- Experience preparing tax provisions under IFRS or US GAAP.
- Proficiency in Excel and tax software; familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; attention to detail and deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience with transfer pricing, tax controversy, or cross-border tax planning.
- Knowledge of tax automation tools, Power Query, or basic scripting for process efficiency.
