Role purpose
Carry out accurate, high-quality garment alterations while providing courteous customer service.
Support the tailoring operation from customer order intake through final delivery.
Store operations support
- Assist the Shop Manager with daily store activities and oversee operations during the manager’s absence, reporting key issues.
- Report maintenance and repair needs and follow up on them.
Alterations and operations
- Perform hemming, resizing, repairs, and adjustments across various garments.
- Assess garments and recommend suitable alteration solutions based on customer needs and garment structure.
- Operate sewing machines and hand-sewing tools safely; meet agreed timelines and inspect completed garments before delivery.
Customer service and work area
- Explain alteration options, timelines, and pricing; support cashier operations when required.
- Coordinate with colleagues to maintain workflow and service continuity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow company policies, procedures, and quality guidelines.
Requirements
- At least two to three years of experience in tailoring or garment alterations.
- Good knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and sewing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, time-management ability, and basic communication and customer-service skills.
- A tailoring or garment-manufacturing diploma or certification is preferred.
- Cashier-system familiarity is an advantage.
