Job Title - Systems Specialist

Location - Dubai

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure efficient operation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Shutdown Systems, PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, and related control system hardware and software to achieve optimal plant reliability and availability.
• Monitor system performance, identify deviations, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions following approved procedures.
• Perform routine system health checks, backups, patch updates, antivirus checks, and maintain system documentation and reports.
• Support maintenance and modification activities in coordination with vendors, OEMs, and multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation.
• Assist in control system configuration changes, management of change processes, and provide as-built documentation and system data.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards, cybersecurity policies, and operational procedures at all times.
• Support commissioning, startup, shutdown, and project implementation of new or upgraded control systems and equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting support for gas turbines, compressors, flow computers, fire & gas systems, and other proprietary control systems.
• Participate in risk assessments, alarm/event analysis, and incident investigations to improve system performance.
• Provide on-call emergency support and ensure timely resolution of control system faults to maintain plant operations.

Job Requirements

• A diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in oil & gas industry with hands-on control systems maintenance experience.
• Experience in offshore/onshore hydrocarbon processing and utilities plants.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience in control systems and control logic design.
• Practical knowledge of Honeywell DCS, FSC, Safety Manager, RTU, and SCADA systems.
• Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell ControlLogix, Triconex, DeviceNet, ControlNet, PLC programming, and HMI configuration (RS-View).
• Experience with gas turbine and compressor control systems.
• Knowledge of vibration monitoring systems and magnetic bearing control systems.
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
• UAE driving license preferred.
