Structural Plate Fitter
Role Overview
This role is ideal for a Journeyperson Welder who has developed strong plate fitting and structural fabrication experience and enjoys taking ownership of projects from layout to final fit-up.
You'll be responsible for interpreting fabrication drawings, laying out and fitting structural steel and plate components, producing precise tolerance-critical assemblies, and supporting welders and apprentices throughout the fabrication process.
While this is not a formal leadership position, you'll play an important role in mentoring apprentices, sharing your knowledge, and helping maintain the quality standards Sky Eye is known for.
If you're the type of tradesperson who takes pride in a clean fit-up, catches issues before they become problems, and enjoys helping others develop their skills, you'll fit right in.

• Puts safety first, every time
• Holds yourself and others to a high standard of quality
• Has strong structural fitting and plate fabrication experience
• Can confidently read and interpret fabrication and assembly drawings
• Understands layouts, tolerances, geometry, and fabrication math
