Role Description This is a part-time Structural Engineering Manager role based in Dubai in a hybrid arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work from home.
The Structural Engineering Manager will lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers, overseeing the planning, analysis, and design of structures in accordance with local and international codes.
The role includes reviewing calculations and drawings, providing technical guidance, and ensuring quality control and constructability of designs.
The manager will coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients to align technical requirements, schedules, and budgets.
Day-to-day responsibilities also involve managing project timelines, allocating resources, supporting the integration of engineering software tools and workflows, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong engineering management and project management skills, with experience planning, prioritizing, and delivering multiple structural projects.
- Proven team leadership capabilities, including mentoring, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
- Familiarity with software development and integration concepts as they relate to engineering tools, design automation, and workflow optimization.
- Extensive experience in structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD, or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree or specialized structural focus is an advantage.
- Professional registration or chartered status (e.g., PE, CEng, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, and applicable local Dubai/UAE regulations).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working in a hybrid environment, with strong self-organization and time-management skills.
- Previous experience in the Middle East region or with similar climatic and regulatory contexts is a plus.
