About the Company Our client, Essential Generics, is an international pharmaceutical group operating in the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) segment and developing its own proprietary molecules.

Founded by a Russian-speaking entrepreneur, the company runs as a truly global team: headquartered in Mumbai, with an R&D center in Hyderabad, a commercial hub in Moscow, and additional offices in China and the UAE.

The business operates across the CIS, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East — present in 15+ countries.

The company is currently in a phase of rapid growth: international distribution is scaling, the R&D function is expanding, and the foundations for in-house manufacturing are being laid.

Who We're Looking For We're searching for a strong operational leader at the middle+ / senior level (5–8 years of experience) who can bridge strategy and day-to-day execution.

This is a role about building and evolving processes inside a fast-growing international business.

You'll need to be comfortable navigating ambiguity, ramping up quickly on unfamiliar domains, and driving initiatives all the way to measurable results.

In your first months: Deep-dive into the company's core processes: sales, sourcing, logistics, and R&D Diagnose current operations — surface bottlenecks, leakages, and growth opportunities Design and stand up an end-to-end RFQ workflow (from inquiry to shipment) Roll out a KPI framework and management reporting system Going forward: Architect and implement business processes (SOPs, SLAs, dashboards) Align cross-functional teams: sales, sourcing, and operations Select and deploy the right tools (CRM, tracking, automation) Prepare analytics that inform executive decisions Contribute to the launch of new business lines and expansion into new markets Gradually take ownership of operational leadership, freeing up the founder's time What Matters in a Candidate 5–8 years of experience in operational or strategic roles Willingness to travel to India 5–6 times per year Experience in pharma, distribution, FMCG, or adjacent industries is a strong plus Solid grasp of business economics (margins, unit economics) A track record of structuring processes and seeing them through to implementation Genuine interest in automation and AI-powered tools Fluent Russian and English What We Offer Direct collaboration with the founder and a real seat at the decision-making table Tangible influence on the trajectory of an international business through operational change A clear growth path toward COO or Chief of Staff Remote-first format, with the option to visit offices in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Moscow, the UAE, and China A truly international team
