About GSM
- GSM is the EV mobility platform of Vingroup, Vietnam's largest private conglomerate.
- Our scope is global, and our model is unusually broad - we operate at the intersection of
- electric vehicle solutions, vehicle financing, EV charging and depot infrastructure, technology development, and ride-hailing and adjacent mobility services
- .
- We are scaling internationally with an ambitious multi-year expansion programme spanning several regions.
- The Market Development team is being built now to drive that expansion.
- The Strategy Director is the senior hire of the Strategy function within that team.
- The role
- You will work directly with the Strategy Director to deliver the analytical core of GSM's market-entry decisions.
- You'll own engagement workstreams
- end-to-end
- from scoping the question, to structuring the analysis, to building the financial case, to landing the recommendation with senior stakeholders. You'll work across multiple markets and business lines in parallel, often with quick turnaround.

- What you'll own:
- **Engagement execution**
- Run market analyses end-to-end - sizing, competitive structure, regulatory fit, EV-infrastructure maturity, unit economics
- Structure the work, define the analytical approach, and deliver against the brief on time and at quality
- Synthesise findings into clear, defensible conclusions for the Strategy Director and senior stakeholders
- **Financial modelling and business cases**
- Build per-market financial models from first principles - P&L, unit economics, capex envelope, ramp curves
- Stress-test commercial assumptions and identify the levers that move the answer
- Translate models into decision-ready business cases
- **Competitive and market intelligence**
- Stay current on competitive activity and structural shifts relevant to the markets and business lines under analysis
- Bring relevant findings into the engagement and the final recommendation
- **Engagement leadership**
- Run engagements with discipline - scoping, timeline, work allocation, quality control
- Partner closely with junior team members on the work; help develop their analysis, modelling, and communication skills through real engagements
- Take ownership of the output - quality, timeliness, and the story it tells
- **Stakeholder communication**
- Present analysis and recommendations clearly to the Strategy Director and senior stakeholders
- Coordinate with relevant counterparts across the organisation to gather inputs and validate assumptions
- Contribute to the strategic outputs that inform each new market launch
- Who you are:
- You're a sharp analytical thinker.
- Given a strategic question, you can scope it, structure the analysis, find the right data, build the model, and land a defensible answer.
- You enjoy the craft of getting the analysis right, and you don't mind getting deep in the numbers when needed.
- You understand commercial mechanics.
- You can read a P&L, see what drives it, and explain why a business model works (or doesn't) in plain language.
- Unit economics are second nature: you can build them, stress them, and walk a non-modeller through them.
- You communicate clearly and with substance.
- Your writing is sharp, your decks are clean, and you can explain a complex strategic call to a non-specialist without losing the substance.
- You move easily across markets and cultures.
- You've worked outside your home base, you adjust your style to context, and you don't mistake your home market's playbook for the global one.
- You own your work end-to-end.
- You can run an engagement workstream from scoping through to recommendation (structured, on time, at quality) without being micromanaged.
- You're energised by ambiguity.
- You don't need a fully-formed playbook; you'd rather work one out as you go.
- You're frustrated by unnecessary process and you'd rather move than over-plan.
- What you bring:

- **Business-model fluency**

- you've delivered analysis or projects across more than one geography
- **Track record of owning workstreams end-to-end**

- **English fluency**

- **Willing to be based in our regional hub**
- and travel across diverse international markets
