Job Summary

OneShop is launching a premium service tier - our highest level of partnership, built for independent retailers whose digital presence is core to their business and growth strategy. The Strategic Account Partner is the member’s primary relationship at OneShop - the person who knows their business, advocates for them internally, and makes sure every part of our organization shows up for them.

This is a proactive relationship role first. The member should experience the Strategic Account Partner as an extension of their own staff: someone who understands what they are trying to accomplish, anticipates what they will need, and always knows exactly which expert to bring into the room. The Strategic Account Partner does not directly run digital advertising, SEO, design, or development - our specialists do, and they own their craft. What the Strategic Account Partner brings is strong fluency across all of it — plus deep fluency in the OneShop platform itself — to ask the right questions, understand the needs, translate in both directions, and hold the internal teams to a high standard on the retailer's behalf.

Responsiveness is table stakes. The real measure of the role is pro-active recommendations, that meaningfully advance the business.

As the tier matures, the remit will expand - We are looking for someone who can deliver an exceptional member experience today and grow as the tier of service expands.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities may include, and will evolve as the tier matures:
  • Serving as the primary point of contact and responsible owner for assigned retailer(s), building trust with the retailers ownership and marketing leadership.
  • Learning the member’s business deeply - categories, margin mix, markets, manufacturer programs, customer experience, operational challenges, and what the showroom floor is seeing - and using that knowledge to guide the work and priorities of the NMG team and supporting the account.
  • Maintaining strong working knowledge of the OneShop platform and its capabilities, to understand member needs, ask informed questions, and identify when Product or other specialists should be engaged.
  • Creating, documenting and maintaining a plan for each account, tied to the member’s business goals and reviewed with them on a regular cadence.
  • Running the account cadence: standing working sessions, performance and plan reviews, quarterly business reviews with the executive sponsor, and annual planning.
  • Work across the organization to ensure the right internal experts are brought into the room at the right time - Performance Marketing, SEO, Design, Product, and Data - and coordinating their work so the member experiences one team whenever possible rather than several.
  • Translating member needs into clear direction for internal teams and reviewing work against the plan before it reaches the member.
  • Guiding members toward the work that will most move their business, including making the case for a different approach when a request will not serve them well.
  • Surfacing issues, delays, and risks to the member early, with a recommended path forward.
  • Representing the member’s priorities in the new product roadmap lane, including working sessions with Product and business reviews.
  • Briefing the executive sponsor ahead of member conversations, and escalating when leadership attention is warranted.
  • Supporting renewal, identifying growth opportunities, and flagging account risk to leadership early and honestly.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent.
  • (5) years in client-facing account management, client services, or engagement management - at an agency, a marketing services company, or a technology or e-commerce platform.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting e-commerce-driven businesses, with an understanding of how digital platforms, website functionality, customer experience, and online merchandising impact business performance.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand platform functionality, integrations, workflows, and complex digital requirements well enough to participate effectively in conversations with Product and other technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of client relationships, including direct responsibility for client satisfaction and retention.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams - marketing, creative, technical, or delivery - to produce client work.
  • Experience translating client needs into clear direction for specialists, and explaining technical or strategic constraints to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to and advising senior stakeholders, including business owners or executives.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for member visits, business reviews, our two annual PrimeTime events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving big-ticket, considered-purchase retail: appliance, furniture, mattress, consumer electronics, or home improvement.
  • Working knowledge of co-op advertising funds, manufacturer marketing programs, and buying-group or dealer-network dynamics.
  • Experience across digital marketing - paid, organic, and email - sufficient to partner credibly with specialists.
  • Experience directing or reviewing design and creative work in a client-facing capacity.
  • E-commerce merchandising familiarity - PDP and PLP optimization, catalog and product-data structure, and conversion optimization.
  • Familiarity with retail performance analytics.
  • Ownership of a client relationship or book of business valued at $500,000 or more annually.
  • Experience on the retailer side of the relationship at some point in their career.
  • Experience building a role, service offering, or process from scratch.
