Statutory and regulatory reporting
- Prepare the association's annual statement and quarterly statements, and ensure required filings are timely.
- Prepare supplemental reports, including Risk Based Capital reports, investment schedules, and management discussion and analysis.
SAP accounting records
- Maintain separate SAP accounting records and prepare journal entries for SAP financial statements.
- Convert GAAP balances to SAP balances through documented adjustments.
- Monitor SAP accounting guidance and legislation, and alert management and the team to changes.
BCBSA reporting and audit support
- Prepare quarterly, semiannual, and annual BCBSA reports, including financial, liquidity ratio, Risk Based Capital, and budget reports.
- Assist with online submission of reports from other areas as needed.
- Provide auditors with supporting schedules and worksheets, explain adjustments, and communicate account balances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and two years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination.
- Knowledge of GAAP and SAP, and/or government accounting and reporting.
- Financial analysis, project coordination, documentation, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Database manipulation software familiarity or relevant data-entry experience.
