Regulatory review and change strategy

  • Monitor, review, and analyze federal and state laws, regulations, rules, and guidance for requirements affecting HMSA operations.
  • Support management and the Senior Analyst in interpreting complex requirements and translating them into business and compliance strategies.
  • Assess the scope and significance of regulatory changes and their effects on processes, systems, technology, products, benefits, costs, and organizational capabilities.
  • Evaluate potential strategic, operational, compliance, and financial implications and communicate them to stakeholders.

Implementation and project coordination

  • Collaborate with project or program leads on complex regulatory and change-management initiatives.
  • Develop and execute workplans and business requirements covering regulatory intake, analysis, impact assessment, implementation, validation, and closure.
  • Align timelines, resources, and deliverables with compliance deadlines and monitor implementation progress and sustainability.

Risk, stakeholders, and reporting

  • Partner with business areas to identify compliance activities and facilitate discussions about impacts to people, processes, and technology.
  • Lead regulatory impact assessments and risk analyses; develop mitigation strategies and support escalation and resolution of risks or barriers.
  • Prepare executive-level impact summaries, change updates, and decision recommendations; provide status reporting and coordinate cross-department awareness and accountability.

Tracking and continuous improvement

  • Maintain and enhance regulatory tracking and change-management systems.
  • Analyze metrics and outcomes to assess implementation effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for regulatory activities, decisions, and compliance outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, government communications, operating instructions, and safety rules.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, document management systems, and project management tools.
