Sr. Software Project Manager (Scaled Agile /Device Development)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead platform and application software planning, control, and coordination using Scaled Agile development practices.
• Lead system-level integration across software, firmware, instruments, peripherals, and third-party components, fostering team ownership and accountability.
• Collaborate across software, firmware, hardware, service, and research teams to resolve project needs.
• Coordinate concurrent hardware and software development, integration, validation, and commercial release readiness.
• Support platform evolution while balancing features, technical debt, scalability, maintainability, and product lifecycle objectives.
• Deliver status reports, visual management, and progress metrics; lead and measure team project-task performance.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
• Prefer 7+ years of engineering-sector experience as a software engineering professional and/or project manager; Agile and Waterfall experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary system development and integration projects involving embedded hardware, firmware, and control/processing software.
• Experience managing platforms supporting multiple products, configurations, device variants, or customer workflows.
• Ability to assess technical trade-offs and risks involving scope, architecture, performance, usability, reliability, maintainability, and release readiness.

Additional plus qualifications

• Systems engineering and product architecture experience is a plus.
• Platform or enterprise software development experience is a plus.
• Experience executing concurrent projects in a shared code base is a plus.

Compensation

• Annual salary range is $125,000–$135,000.
• The role is also eligible for bonus or incentive pay.
