Sr. Route Salesman

Role purpose

Sales and customer service

• Sell the full product range to assigned customers against agreed sales targets and stale-product targets.
• Follow customer call frequency and daily route plans; customer visits are reviewed during daily supervisor debriefings.
• Agree order requirements for the next selling period and maintain customer stock levels to reduce out-of-stocks.
• Implement agreed in-store merchandising and coordinate additional merchandiser support with the supervisor.
• Report competitor activity and relevant market information to the supervisor.

Vehicle, cash, and operating duties

• Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks, keep the sales vehicle clean and roadworthy, and promptly report defects or damage.
• Reconcile cheques, cash, and credit sales daily, with zero cash and stock shortages.
• Maintain a high standard of driving and obey driving regulations.
• Attend training courses and complete a daily supervisor debriefing.
