Sr. Quality Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Drive quality strategy for the payment and expense platform, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across transaction, expense, and refund workflows.
• Perform deep API-level testing - constructing requests, validating responses, verifying error handling, and exercising payment workflows end-to-end through service endpoints.
• Validate data integrity at the database level using SQL - querying transactional data to verify records, logs, tracing data across tables, and extracting values from JSON fields to confirm system behavior.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed QA best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Advocate for a "shift-left" quality mindset — integrating testing early in design and development phases.
• Develop and maintain detailed test plans and test cases based on user stories, business requirements, and technical specifications, following structured documentation standards (happy path, negative, and edge case coverage mapped to acceptance criteria).
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across web, API, and blockchain components.
• Support the delivery of high-quality releases by identifying and tracking defects in Jira, performing root cause analysis, and verifying fixes.
• Contribute to QA process improvement initiatives, including test documentation in Confluence, automation coverage tracking, sprint reporting, and release metrics.
• Mentor junior quality analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and excellence.
• Actively participate and represent QA in sprint ceremonies, release planning, and post-release retrospectives within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in corporate travel or airline industries — familiarity with concepts such as booking types, transaction types, and carrier systems.
• 7+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related role.
• Expert-level API testing skills. Proven, hands-on experience testing APIs directly (e.g., Postman), including request construction, response validation, authentication, and negative/error scenario coverage.
• Strong SQL skills. Writing queries against transactional databases to validate results, joining across tables, and extracting values from JSON fields. Candidates should be comfortable verifying system behavior through data, not just the UI.
• Experience testing payment, financial, or transactional systems where data accuracy is critical.
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for test management, defect tracking, and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for process optimization and automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to drive quality across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with virtual card payments, expense management platforms, or reconciliation workflows.
• Experience working in a cloud-based environment (AWS).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (PHP, Python, Node.js).
• Experience with blockchain-based transaction validation.
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth company environment.
