Role overview

Vessel operations and maintenance

• Coordinates and delegates technical tasks and prepares annual vessel OPEX.
• Monitors vessel technical activities, monthly PMS reports, and vessel log reviews.
• Maintains vessel specifications and records and ensures vessels are maintained within owners’ available funding.
• Supports technical procedures and work instructions and liaises with customers on vessel performance.

Repairs, supplies, and inspections

• Records dry-docking and repair work, costs, forecasts, and quality; determines repair specifications and reports actual costs against budgets.
• Sources technical supplies, coordinates vessel requisitions, and maintains onboard inventories.
• Conducts inspections and audits and attends sea trials, dry dockings, repairs, and surveys as required.
• Selects LSA and FFE service providers and is responsible for lifting equipment and crane inspection.
• May travel overseas at short notice for inspections, meetings, or surveys.

Qualifications and experience

• Marine engineering or naval architecture degree with relevant offshore ship-management experience.
• Class 1 or 2 seagoing chief engineer with relevant ship-management experience, or at least five years of technical-support experience.
• Thorough understanding of the Middle East operating theatre.

Technical knowledge

• Strong knowledge of dynamic positioning, FMEA, and managing FMECA.
• Detailed understanding of applicable industry rules, regulations, conventions, and laws for the area of operations and vessels.
