Role summary

Essential responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects through direct reports and potentially manage individual software development projects.
• Supervise costs, methods, and staffing to ensure project delivery.
• Set operational targets and drive engineering KPIs such as unit test coverage, uptime and resiliency, and execution velocity.
• Deliver projects and continuous improvement affecting up to three domains.
• Resolve complex or unique technical situations affecting business success or future concepts, products, or technologies.
• Create roadmaps for multiple scrum teams and translate operational strategy into resourcing plans.
• Apply advanced analytical thought and judgment to complex or ambiguous problems.
• Collaborate with direct teams, organizational managers, other organizations, and business stakeholders.

Minimum qualifications

• At least 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading others.

Work arrangement

• For most employees, PayPal uses a balanced hybrid model with 3 office days and 2 days at either the office or home.
