Responsibilities
- Generate design concepts and produce conforming designs, parameters, and calculations based on project or lead engineer direction.
- Develop feasible designs considering available manufacturing processes; calculate mass, strength, and mechanical performance.
- Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documents.
- Provide analyzed alternative design solutions and recommendations for assigned projects.
- Direct and verify designers' and detailers' work; ensure compliance with government and customer specifications and regulations.
- Meet schedules, participate in product design reviews when required, and potentially manage a CAD operator.
Requirements
- Develop feasible metal designs that account for available manufacturing processes and mechanical performance.
- Provide clear technical direction to designers and detailers and verify their work.
