Senior Engineer - Plastics

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and conforming designs, parameters, and calculations using input from project or lead engineers.
• Develop manufacturable designs and calculate mass, strength, and mechanical performance.
• Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documents.
• Provide alternative design solutions with analysis, supporting information, and recommendations.
• Give designers and detailers clear technical direction and verify their work.
• Lead design FMEA studies and apply customer CAD data integrity requirements.
• Ensure designs meet government and customer specifications and regulations.
• Meet schedules, participate in design reviews as needed, and manage CAD operators when applicable.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Design and development experience in an industrial environment; automotive experience is ideal.
• Knowledge and experience in project management, program standards, tools, and methods.
• Appropriate training in program-specific CAD software and familiarity with primary manufacturing methods.
• Team player with strong communication skills; English required.
