Definition
The Sports Activities Department is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising sports programs and events in accordance with approved educational and organizational standards, ensuring quality, safety, and the achievement of educational objectives.
The department also coordinates with operational teams and partners, develops governing policies, and monitors performance and reporting to ensure the success and sustainability of sports initiatives.
The Sports Activities Specialist is accountable for the end-to-end execution of specific sports programs within the section.
Unlike the general coach role, the individual in this position holds complete responsibility for the administrative and operational success of the assigned activities, ensuring that all sessions and events are safe, well-organised and aligned with the high standards approved in the sports education sector.
Main Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic program execution and coordination with the operations team.
- Policy and procedures development.
- Reporting: Delivering weekly reports to the lead specialist and any tasks required by the section head/line manager.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintaining a clear and sustainable rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience in sports activities management, physical education programs, or a similar field.
- Demonstrated experience in the end-to-end execution of sports programs, events, and initiatives, including planning, coordination, and on-ground implementation.
- Proven ability to support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear and timely weekly reports and follow management instructions accurately.
- Proven capability to manage and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective and sustainable professional relationships.
- Solid experience in project and event management, including planning, execution, and post-activity evaluation.
- Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources efficiently while ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements, institutional regulations, and risk management principles related to sports activities.
- Excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and conflict resolution abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
