About This Role

Job Purpose

The Spare Parts Logistics Director is a senior executive role responsible for leading, transforming, and scaling the end-to-end logistics operations for automotive spare parts across a multi-brand, multi-user 3PL environment.

The role holder will take full ownership of warehouse operations, distribution networks, inventory control, replenishment processes, and customer SLA management across central and satellite facilities.

The position carries a clear transformation mandate: consolidating brands under unified logistics governance, deploying warehouse management systems (WMS), establishing rigorous inventory control disciplines, optimizing cost structures, and driving operational performance to measurable profitability targets.

1. Warehouse & Distribution Operations Management

  • Direct and govern all warehouse operations across central and satellite spare parts facilities, ensuring throughput, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns processes.
  • Manage distribution and transportation operations end-to-end, including route planning, fleet coordination, last-mile delivery, and third-party carrier management.
  • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all logistics functions, ensuring consistency across all locations and brands.
  • Ensure facility layouts are optimized for spare parts velocity profiles, slotting efficiency, and storage utilization.

2. Multi-Brand Consolidation & 3PL Operations

  • Lead the consolidation of multiple automotive brands into a unified logistics operating model within the 3PL environment.
  • Design and implement shared-service logistics structures that serve multiple brand principals without compromising individual SLA commitments.
  • Manage multi-user warehouse environments with clear brand segregation, inventory ownership controls, and billing accuracy.
  • Establish governance frameworks for onboarding new brand principals, managing scope changes, and handling contractual obligations.

3. WMS Deployment & Technology Enablement

  • Lead the end-to-end deployment of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across central and satellite locations, from scoping through go-live and stabilization.
  • Define system requirements, process workflows, and integration points with ERP, TMS, and customer platforms.
  • Drive technology adoption across operational teams, ensuring adequate training, change management, and process alignment.
  • Oversee system performance post-deployment, including data accuracy, exception handling, and continuous configuration improvements.
  • Evaluate and recommend complementary technologies including barcode/RFID, yard management, and route optimization tools.

4. Inventory Control & Replenishment

  • Establish and enforce strict inventory control disciplines including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, aging management, and write-off governance.
  • Design and implement replenishment processes that balance stock availability against carrying costs and obsolescence risk.
  • Ensure real-time inventory visibility across all locations through system integration and disciplined data management.
  • Govern inventory KPIs including accuracy rates, fill rates, dead stock ratios, and order fulfillment metrics.
  • Partner with procurement and commercial teams to align inventory planning with demand patterns and supplier lead times.

5. Cost Management & Financial Accountability

  • Own the full P&L accountability for logistics operations, including warehouse costs, transportation spend, labor, and technology investment.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets with clear cost-per-unit, cost-per-delivery, and cost-per-brand metrics.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and business case development for operational investments, facility changes, and technology deployments.
  • Identify and execute cost optimization initiatives without compromising service quality or compliance.
  • Prepare and present financial performance reports to executive leadership with variance analysis, trend insights, and corrective action plans.

6. Customer SLA Management & Commercial Interface

  • Define, negotiate, and manage customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across all brand principals, ensuring alignment between service commitments and profitability targets.
  • Establish performance reporting cadences with customers, providing transparent visibility into delivery performance, fill rates, and issue resolution.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for SLA breaches, ensuring structural fixes rather than reactive responses.
  • Support commercial and business development teams with operational feasibility assessments for new customer onboarding and scope expansion.

7. Operational Transformation & Turnaround

  • Lead the overall operational transformation agenda, covering process re-engineering, organizational restructuring, technology deployment, and performance culture change.
  • Develop and execute a transformation roadmap with clear milestones, resource plans, risk mitigation, and executive-level reporting.
  • Drive corrective actions on facility licenses, regulatory compliance, and operational permits as required.
  • Build a performance-driven operational culture with clear accountability, KPI discipline, and continuous improvement habits.
  • Manage change across operational teams, ensuring alignment, communication, and minimal disruption during transition periods.

8. Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, structure, and lead the logistics operations team across all facilities, including warehouse managers, supervisors, inventory controllers, and distribution staff.
  • Establish clear reporting lines, accountability structures, and performance management frameworks.
  • Develop team capabilities through training, mentoring, and structured development plans.
  • Foster a culture of operational discipline, ownership, and customer orientation across all levels.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA or MSc in Supply Chain/Logistics) is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications in supply chain or logistics (CSCP, CLTD, Six Sigma) are valued.

Experience

  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in spare parts logistics, warehouse operations, and distribution management.
  • Must have extensive experience specifically in automotive spare parts logistics environments.
  • Must have 3PL logistics background with proven experience operating multi-user, multi-brand warehouse environments.
  • Must have managed distribution and transportation operations at scale.
  • Must have led the deployment of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) in complex, multi-site environments from scoping through stabilization.
  • Must have dealt with multiple brands across different operational setups and geographies.
  • Must demonstrate a career trajectory built from operational ranks upward, not solely corporate or consulting-based experience.
  • Proven track record in operational turnaround, transformation, and performance optimization.
  • Experience across multiple organizations is required; single-company career profiles do not meet the breadth requirement.

Technical Competencies

  • Deep expertise in warehouse operations management, slotting, layout optimization, and throughput management for spare parts environments.
  • Strong command of inventory control methodologies including cycle counting, ABC/XYZ classification, demand-based replenishment, and aging governance.
  • Proven capability in WMS deployment and technology enablement across complex logistics environments.
  • Strong distribution and transportation management skills including route optimization, carrier management, and last-mile delivery.
  • Advanced financial skills including budgeting, costing, scenario analysis, business case development, and P&L management.
  • Strong process design and optimization capability, with ability to create, document, standardize, and continuously improve operational processes.
  • Proficiency in supply chain analytics, operational KPI design, and performance reporting.

Leadership & Behavioral Competencies

  • Transformation leader with proven ability to turn around underperforming operations and build sustainable performance cultures.
  • Strong change management capability with ability to motivate, align, and drive adoption across diverse operational teams.
  • Exceptional customer management orientation with ability to forge strong relationships, manage expectations, and deliver on commitments.
  • Resilient, composed, and effective under pressure, including experience operating in demanding or austere environments.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to create and deliver executive-level operational and financial presentations.
  • Analytical mindset with discipline to translate data into actionable operational decisions.
  • Personable and collaborative, with ability to build trust and credibility across internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Agile and adaptable, comfortable operating outside structured corporate environments when field conditions require it.

Language Requirements

  • English fluency is mandatory (spoken and written).
  • Arabic language capability is a strong advantage.
