Solution Engineer - Cloud & AI (Data)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales with decision makers through demonstrations and proofs of concept to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
• Lead hackathons and architecture workshops to accelerate adoption of Microsoft cloud platforms.
• Build relationships with platform leads and co-design secure, scalable architectures.
• Resolve technical blockers with engineering partners and share insights to improve products.
• Maintain expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databases, Azure Databricks, Purview, on-premises data warehouses, Hadoop, and BI solutions.
• Represent Microsoft in cloud database and analytics communities and customer forums.
• Guide database and analytics migrations into customer deployment workflows.

Required qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 3+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting; or bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 4+ years; or 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

• 6+ years of technical pre-sales, consulting, technology delivery, or related experience is preferred.
• 4+ years with cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructure, architecture, migrations, standards, or technology management is preferred.
• Relevant technology certifications are listed, including Office 365, Power BI, Azure, cloud platforms, information security, or architecture.
• Experience with Azure Databases, Azure Analytics, competitor platforms, and technical engagements that deliver production-scale outcomes is listed.

Compensation

• The typical base pay range for Solution Engineering IC4 across Canada is CAD 96,000–177,600 per year.
