Solution Architect – MES

Role purpose

Solution delivery and customer work

• Gather plant-operation requirements, perform gap analysis, and address MES or Batch system integration challenges.
• Support implementation and rollout of suitable MES architecture for assigned industries and applications.
• Ensure client expectations, delivery schedules, and deliverable quality are met; apply appropriate best practices such as ISA99.
• Engage customers to resolve process problems and grow their business using digital solution tools.
• Define solution architectures, detailed design specifications, functional requirements, and workflow process maps.
• Estimate technical effort, own technical deliverables through the solution lifecycle, and contribute to client reports and success metrics.
• Support MES training efforts, including documenting requirements and supporting training architecture and delivery.
• Support customer problem resolution and contracted service, identify future opportunities, and contribute to securing orders.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or at least six years of industry experience in an engineering discipline and sales.
• At least four years of experience integrating, implementing, or handling actual MES or Batch applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills focused on solution development for operational use.
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the YMA region.

Competencies and technical skills

• Good communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to energize others.
• Software skills in analysis, design, methodology, and architecture; experience with MES technologies and related manufacturing applications.
• MES for Materials and Life Industries is preferred; Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, or specialized chemical domain knowledge is a plus.
• AI for MES and multiple third-party protocols and interfaces are advantageous; OSI PI is a plus.

Travel

• Travel throughout the YMA region is required.
