Role overview

Architecture and platform delivery

• Create and maintain the architectural runway for platform teams with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects, and Engineers.
• Elaborate solutions and interfaces, validate technology assumptions, compare implementation options, and assess software lifecycle risks and dependencies.
• Deliver end-to-end solution designs and feature designs that enable frequent incremental customer value.
• Promote adaptive design, collaboration, continuous feedback, and a shared vision across platform teams.
• Own technical design risks and issues and drive resolution through architectural or Agile practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, elicit requirements, and shape and validate designs or prototypes aligned with target architecture.
• Apply industry practices, frameworks, standards, and policies; contribute to funding decisions for solution opportunities.
• Set guiding principles and success criteria for platform capabilities and features, and foster quality, decoupled, modernized architectures.
• Help platform leaders assess software and infrastructure currency risks, plan actions, and continuously evergreen systems.
• Support platform estimation, spend, and risk management; lead and direct a diverse workforce toward business strategy.

Experience and capabilities

• Experience in multidisciplinary product, feature, or platform teams.
• Experience in systems engineering or solution architecture and familiarity with software development processes such as Behaviour-Driven Development and Test-Driven Development.
• Strong understanding of solution and software architecture patterns.
• Experience defining or operating environments using Agile Architecture, Emergent Architecture, and Intentional Architecture techniques.
• Experience collaborating with Enterprise, Security, Data, and Infrastructure architects.
• Demonstrable experience leading architectural governance, risk management, or compliance activities.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, ArchiMate, cloud architectures, or similar frameworks.
• Understanding of third-party product deployment and vendor evaluation and selection.
• Prior experience in mobile native, cross-platform or hybrid apps, API gateway management, and microservices.
• Ability to inspire change and help teams find appropriate technology solutions.
