Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of C++ programming experience.
  • At least 2 years developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience with data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting, accessible technology development, system diagnosis, or software test engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code and design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews, review code, and provide feedback to support best practices.
  • Contribute to documentation or educational content and adapt it based on updates and user feedback.
  • Triage and resolve product or system issues by analyzing causes and impacts on hardware, networks, service operations, and quality.

Google Ads builds advertising products and tools across search, display, shopping, travel, video, and analytics to connect businesses, publishers, advertisers, and users.

Compensation

  • U.S. pay range is $147,000 to $210,000, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Interview and location

  • In most instances, the hiring process requires in-person interviews.
  • Applicants may share a preferred working location of Mountain View, California, or Los Angeles, California.
