Software Engineer II

MetLife is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise-grade applications. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who can design, build, test, and support secure, scalable, and maintainable systems while collaborating with global stakeholders, architects, product owners, and cross-functional delivery teams.

· 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack application development, preferably in enterprise systems.

· Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices-based application development.

· Experience building frontend applications using React, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, or equivalent modern web frameworks.

· Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, query optimization, and integration patterns.

· Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to sprint planning, development, testing, demos, and retrospectives.

· Hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines, source control, build automation, deployment automation, and cloud-ready engineering practices.

· Working knowledge of containers, cloud platforms, observability, and production support practices is preferred.

· Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar developer productivity platforms is an advantage.
