Role Overview

Technical Execution

• Improve code structure, influence architecture, and review code produced by the team.
• Simplify maintenance and operation of production systems, visibility, operational readiness, and system health.

Collaboration and Leadership

• Build relationships with other engineering teams and identify collaboration opportunities.
• Own larger pieces of work, assist with design and implementation choices, and influence the team roadmap.
• Participate in hiring and conduct engineering interviews.
• Support colleagues' personal growth and encourage efficiency in their roles.

Experience and Skills

• The company welcomes experience in some, rather than necessarily all, of the listed areas.
• Experience writing web-based applications in any language, with interest in learning Go, Ruby on Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with web architecture at scale, including 20,000 requests per minute or more.
• Experience with NoSQL data backends such as Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, or Memcached.
• Experience solving logistical problems with software.
• Pride in readable, well-designed, and well-tested software.
