Role & Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a development Scrum team in an Agile environment that is geographically diverse
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software backend (REST API) solutions
  • Define requirements for new applications and customization adhering to Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices
  • Develop, customize, and test applications to integrate to Mastercard’s specifications
  • All About You:
  • The ideal candidate would have the following skills:
  • Advanced Java development skills
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of Java 17+, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate
  • Experience in building RESTful services and clients using the Spring framework
  • Experience working with Junit/Mockito/Spring Test
  • Experience with container & vmss deployments
  • Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems
  • Basic security knowledge (TLS, Encryption, hashing, JWT)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or PCF
  • Knowledge of agentic AI and/or building custom agents/skills
  • The ideal candidate may also possess some of these secondary skills:
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle
  • Experience with File Transfer Service (FTP/SFTP)

  • In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
  • Pay Ranges
  • Vancouver, Canada: $91,000 - $140,000 CAD
