Software Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and build native Android user experiences using Kotlin.
• Write maintainable code and unit tests to support performance and stability.
• Partner with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA, and backend engineers to deliver features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported or automated-tool-detected issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and code reviews.
• Stay current with Android features, Jetpack tools, and Google platform updates.

Basic qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year writing native Android applications in Kotlin.
• Experience with Android lifecycle, data persistence, RESTful APIs, and Git.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment.

Preferred qualifications

• A personal or professional app published in the Google Play Store.
• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and traditional layout architectures.
• Understanding of MVVM and Android Jetpack components.
• Exposure to automated testing using JUnit or Espresso.
• Interest in high-quality UI/UX and Material Design guidelines.

Work arrangement

• Hybrid arrangement with at least two days per week in the office; weekly in-office expectations may vary by team.
