Software Engineer

Role overview

What you will be doing

• Develop and maintain core Linux platform support.
• Investigate and resolve bug reports to ensure stability.
• Strengthen quality and delivery through automated testing and code reviews.
• Work with Product, Program Management, Engineering, and QA teams to bring engine features to Linux platforms.
• Contribute to other Unity-supported platforms and develop skills in new areas.

What Unity is looking for

• Proficiency with C++ development and software engineering.
• Experience developing on Linux desktop distributions.
• Ability to debug, diagnose, and solve problems throughout a codebase.
• Understanding of profiling and optimization methods.

Additional experience

• SteamOS experience, Unity and C# development, and automated testing experience are beneficial but not required.
• The role requires sufficient English knowledge for frequent professional communication with colleagues and partners worldwide.

Compensation

• The stated Zone A base salary range is £42,900 to £64,300 GBP gross.
• The position may also be eligible for equity awards and company incentive plans.
• The final offer depends on location, experience, professional background, and skills.
