Analytics Products team

The team builds Expedia Group’s analytics platform and products that help the business make decisions using trusted data.

The platform is being rebuilt as AI-native, with conversational analytics, agents, and self-service products alongside dashboards.

The team uses AI tools and agents in short build-and-test cycles, turning successful work into reusable capabilities.

Role overview

The role combines software development and analytics, building products on certified metrics, data, and AI in close collaboration with users.

The role may suit an engineer with analytical thinking or an analyst with software development capability.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable analytics-product software across the development lifecycle.
  • Use system, low-level, and API design and data modeling to build scalable services for users and AI agents.
  • Translate business and analytical requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and improve performance, reliability, monitoring, testing, and operations.
  • Apply engineering practices to backend services, data-intensive workflows, and AI-powered analytics.
  • Integrate AI/ML solutions safely, use certified metrics, and check outputs for accuracy.
  • Build conversational analytics, natural-language-to-SQL, automated insight summaries, and self-service decision tools.
  • Ship early, test ideas, and develop successful approaches into reusable capabilities.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience delivering production-quality applications or services.
  • Experience owning analytics, data, or product engineering features or services, including implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in programming, version control, automated testing, API development, data modeling, and system design.
  • Ownership, bias to action, ability to turn unclear problems into reliable solutions, and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Foundational understanding of analytics, metrics, data modeling, and how people use data to make decisions.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and reviewing generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience operating scaled analytics products or data-intensive services, with attention to performance, availability, and maintainability.
  • Experience contributing to architecture and technical design decisions.
  • Experience with observability, automation, testing, and continuous delivery.
  • Ability to use data and product signals to evaluate outcomes and guide engineering decisions.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-enabled products or workflows.
