Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and work with cross-functional teams to deliver business-value features.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including research, estimation, proofs of concept, reviews, deployments, and documentation.
• Build backend systems and REST APIs with .NET Core and Entity Framework, and responsive applications with React and TypeScript.
• Design integrations, cloud-native Azure systems, domain-driven architecture, and production-grade public or partner APIs.
• Contribute to AI-powered features and evaluate AI developer tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex.

Required Qualifications

• Degree, diploma, or certificate in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET Core.
• Experience with React and TypeScript for modern front-end applications.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and clean architecture.
• Comfort using generative AI developer tools with sound judgment and validation practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing modular, extensible systems in complex, domain-driven applications.
• Experience designing maintainable APIs with thoughtful versioning and long-term evolution.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Experience with production LLM systems, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or agent-style workflows.
• Familiarity with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
• Familiarity with insurance or other complex, regulated business domains.

Technology Stack and Architecture

• The backend primarily uses C# and .NET Core with Entity Framework and PostgreSQL.
• Front-end applications use React and TypeScript.
• Azure supports cloud infrastructure in a service-oriented architecture with defined boundaries and clean API contracts.
• The platform emphasizes modular configurable components, separation of concerns, scalability, observability, and maintainability.

Workplace

• The team operates in a distributed, flexible remote environment.
• Alberta-based employees are preferred, with periodic in-person planning sessions and team events.
