Role overview

Responsibilities

• Write high-performance Java, Python, and Go code and SQL queries for real-time data processing and storage.
• Build responsive user interfaces with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Document requirements and technical designs and contribute to design discussions.
• Write scalable, high-quality, secure software and collaborate with development and technical teams.
• Review peers' code, uphold coding standards, and troubleshoot bugs using call stacks, trace files, and performance data.
• Contribute to prototypes, minimum viable products, and proofs of concept.
• Provide technical assistance to support staff and resellers, including on-call or ad hoc support.
• Research technologies and recommend options; help define team practices and maintain design documentation.
• Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of previous experience in a related field.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of multiple general-purpose programming languages and experience with Python, Google Compute Engine, and Google BigQuery.
• Working knowledge of cloud computing, with experience in GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
• Technical competence with software programs, including Google Suite for business.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills; able to manage multiple tasks and work with all organizational levels.
• Able to collaborate, adapt to changing priorities, and work under pressure.

• Geotab states that its Dubai office follows an onsite working model supporting in-person work.
