SOFA MAKER UPHOLSTER

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Make sofas, majlis seating, chairs, beds, and custom furniture.
• Cut, stitch, and fit fabric, leather, velvet, and other upholstery materials; measure furniture before cutting.
• Install foam, cushions, webbing, springs, and upholstery accessories.
• Repair and re-upholster furniture and replace damaged fabric, foam, or leather as needed.
• Assemble and finish furniture to customer requirements, with clean stitching and proper fitting.
• Operate upholstery tools and machines safely; follow production schedules and complete work on time.
• Keep the workshop organized and work with the production team under supervisor instructions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in the UAE furniture industry and experience in sofa making and upholstery.
• Knowledge of fabric cutting, stitching, foam fitting, furniture finishing, and working with fabric and leather.
• Understanding of furniture measurements and design drawings; ability to identify and solve upholstery and fitting issues.
• Physically able to work in a workshop; responsible, hardworking, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Candidates must demonstrate upholstery and sofa-making skills during an interview or practical test.

Preferred skills

• Experience with custom-made sofas and majlis furniture.
• Furniture repair and restoration experience; knowledge of modern upholstery techniques and materials.
• Ability to operate sewing machines used in upholstery work.

Compensation and benefits

• The posting states salary up to AED 2,000 per month and also lists pay from AED 2,000 per month.
• Company visa is provided; accommodation and transportation can be discussed during the interview.
• Annual leave and benefits are provided as per UAE Labour Law.

Workplace

• Work is in person in a workshop environment in Dubai, UAE.
