Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
- Two years of experience in a reputable institute or school.
- Master’s degree preferred; health education qualification is an asset.
- Use interviews, counseling sessions, interest and aptitude assessments, and other methods to evaluate and advise students.
- Strong interpersonal skills with students and parents, and demonstrable organizational skills.
- Desire to help others; able to inspire respect, trust, and confidence and bring high emotional and physical energy.
- Use technology effectively to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to promote educational equity and success for every student.
Role responsibilities
- Evaluate and advise students about social development problems or special needs using interviews, counseling sessions, assessments, and other methods.
- Help students enhance personal, social, and academic growth.
- Monitor individual students’ progress.
- Use technology to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the school counseling program.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to create equitable learning environments that support student success.
