This Site Engineer role is employed through Geotech Pty Ltd, which draws on over 40 years of civil, rail and ground engineering experience as the business grows its infrastructure delivery pipeline.

About the Opportunity

You will support the planning, execution and handover of project works in Brisbane, working with the Project Manager, supervisors and Senior Project Engineer. The role gives you broad site engineering exposure, from construction documentation and procurement to contract administration and reporting. Key accountabilities for the position will be:

Manage daily cost control: track costs and productivity, forecast against the construction budget, and deliver weekly and monthly reports

Support the Senior Project Engineer to plan, execute and hand over works within time, cost and quality requirements, including look-ahead planning and rolling programs with the supervisor

Administer contract works and record daily progress, material deliveries, site resources, subcontract works, delays, variations and day works

Prepare work procedures, inspection and test plans, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), construction procedures, site access plans and other safety and construction documentation

Confirm permits and approvals are in place, investigate services and utilities, issue internal permits to work, and manage works to permits, drawings, specifications and work management plans

Apply safety, environmental and quality procedures, maintain the Quality Management System, and record the traceability of materials, work lots and works complete

Support procurement and purchase orders, run internal audits and complaints registers, contribute to inductions for personnel and plant, and attend pre-start meetings

Civil Engineering degree (or similar)

2-3 years of experience as a project-based engineer in the construction engineering industry, in disciplines such as rail and associated civil infrastructure
