Overview

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a skilled and tech-savvy

Simulation Lab Technician

to support clinical skills and simulation-based education within the

General Medicine Program

.

This role is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining simulation equipment and ensuring high-quality practical training for students.

Simulation & Teaching Support

  • Prepare and set up simulation sessions (manikins, task trainers, AV systems)
  • Operate simulation equipment during teaching sessions and assessments (e.g., OSCEs)
  • Support faculty in delivering simulation-based learning (CBL, scenario-based training)
  • Assist students in practicing clinical skills in a controlled environment

Equipment & Systems Management

  • Operate and maintain high-fidelity simulators and task trainers
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to simulation software and hardware
  • Manage simulation software, scenarios, and system updates
  • Maintain inventory of simulation equipment and consumables

Av & Control Room Operations

  • Manage audio-visual systems, recording, and playback for simulation sessions
  • Support control room operations during simulations and assessments
  • Ensure proper functioning of cameras, microphones, and monitoring systems

Safety, Maintenance & Compliance

  • Ensure all equipment is safe, functional, and regularly maintained
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols within simulation labs
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with academic and accreditation standards

Administrative & Coordination

  • Coordinate simulation schedules with faculty and academic departments
  • Maintain logs, reports, and documentation for sessions and equipment
  • Assist in organizing OSCEs and clinical examinations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in
  • Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, IT, or related field
  • Experience in
  • simulation labs, clinical labs, or technical support roles
  • preferred
  • Hands-on experience with simulation equipment or AV systems is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, troubleshooting, and networking
